Built in the 13th century, Methoni Castle is one of the largest castles in the entire Mediterranean! At its entrance, you'll encounter the symbol of Venice, the Lion of Saint Mark. From Methoni, continue your journey into the heart of Messenia, to Ancient Messene. To reach there, follow the road towards Mount Ithome.
